Ride Along Request
Ride-Along Request
In an effort to promote community based support, strengthen interagency alliances, and foster a strong recruiting foundation, Guilford County EMS offers an observation Ride Along Program. Eligible participants are given the opportunity to learn more about Guilford County Emergency Services and the scope of pre-hospital emergency care while receiving a quality educational experience.
Requirements & Restrictions
• Participants must be at least 18 years of age. A copy of the applicant's drivers license or other legal photo ID is
required.   
• Persons currently enrolled in an EMT class are not eligible to participate in the Ride Along Program. Ride time is prohibited between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 am.
• At not time shall a participant in the ride along program be allowed to participate in patient care and treatment, regardless of the medical condition. The participants are present strictly as observers and are not expected, obligated or needed to assist in patient care under any circumstances. Ride alongs must be scheduled through the GCEMS Ride Along Coordinator.
• All observational Ride Alongs require the completion of the following forms and additional requirements prior to scheduling a Ride Along:
      - General Guidelines for EMS Riders & Observers
      - Waiver of Liability

The above forms will be provided to you prior to being scheduled for your Ride Along. To begin the observational Ride Along process complete the online request form below. The Ride Along Coordinator will contact you with the additional information.
